On August 12, the “Belt and Road” Holistic Integrative Oncology Training Base (Guangdong) of China Anti-Cancer Association Unveiling Ceremony, jointly established by the St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, was successfully held at the China Hotel in Guangzhou.
Academician Fan Daiming, Chairman of the China Anti-Cancer Association (CACA); Professor Li Ziyu, Vice Chairman of the CACA; Professor Zhao Yong, Secretary General of the CACA; Mr. Lin Zhicheng, leaders of Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, Guangdong Province, as well as Chairman of St. Stamford International Medical; Mr. Lin Daoxuan, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer; Ms. Jin Nongyi, President’s Assistant and Chief Administrative Officer, and leaders of the St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou attended the unveiling ceremony.

Training base will promote exchanges and cooperation in the field of medical oncology in Southeast Asia
It is reported that after the establishment of “Belt and Road” Holistic Integrative Oncology Training Base (Guangdong) of China Anti-Cancer Association, it will carry out scientific research cooperation, clinical training, technology promotion, popularization of science and patient education, translation and publication of CACA guidelines and other multi-language work for countries along the “Belt and Road”, so as to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of oncology between our country and Southeast Asian countries in the way of “going out and inviting in”.
Academician Fan Daiming said in his speech that China’s first CACA Guidlines for Holistic Integrative Management of Cancer has been highly recognized by medical colleagues all over the world since its release. Academician Fan pointed out that the CACA guideline focuses on the whole process of health management of “prevention-screening-diagnosis-treatment-health”, implements the concept of integrative medicine, and not only absorbs the experience of western countries, but also highlights the characteristics of Chinese people. He emphasized that the construction of the “Belt and Road” Holistic Integrative Oncology Training Base (Guangdong) aims to promote the establishment of extensive exchanges and cooperation between China and Southeast Asia in the areas of talent training, technology exchange and medical cooperation. He hoped that after the establishment of the base, with St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou as a bridge, it would promote the radiation and exchange of China’s tumor prevention and treatment technology and CACA guidelines to Southeast Asian countries, and bless the lives and health of patients in countries along the “Belt and Road”.

Mr. Sunarto, SST.Ft, Ftr, Chairman of Indonesian Traditional Health Committee, said that they are looking forward to the establishment of “Belt and Road” Holistic Integrative Oncology Training Base (Guangdong) of China Anti-Cancer Association, which will play a good role in guiding the local oncology treatment and academic development in Indonesia. Mr. Ftr also hoped that the CACA guidelines would be disseminated to Indonesia as soon as possible, which would help Indonesian doctors to improve their oncology treatment skills and benefit more Indonesian patients.

Mr. VŨ VIỆT ANH, Consul General of Vietnam Consulate in Guangzhou, expressed his heartfelt congratulations on the establishment of the base. He said that Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou has rich experience in cross-border medical treatment, and he expects the base to become an international platform for sharing the achievements of minimally invasive tumor treatment between China and Southeast Asian countries in the future, to promote the upgrading of anticancer technology of Vietnam, to enhance the regional exchanges and cooperation, and to jointly address the increasingly severe challenges of cancer in the region. At the unveiling site, leaders and related organizations from Southeast Asian countries expressed their congratulations and expectations for the establishment of the base through video.

Southeast Asian experts’ medical exchange group praised the training base
The visits and exchanges between the delegations of medical experts from different countries at St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou can be called one of the highlights of this event.
A delegation of more than 20 Southeast Asian medical experts, consisting of a visiting group from Jakarta Traditional Health Council of Indonesia, a visiting group from Ho Chi Minh Doctors of Vietnam, and a medical visiting group from Manila of the Philippines, visited the medical environment and services of St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, observed the latest minimally invasive treatment surgeries, and listened to special lectures from experts as well as actively spoke and exchanged views during their 3-day itinerary.

Mr. SURYAWAN ANG, Vice Chairman of Jakarta Traditional Health Committee of Indonesia, said that he was impressed by the advanced minimally invasive treatment concepts, modern medical equipments, comfortable medical environment and high quality services of Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, and looked forward to the future cooperation between the two sides in the areas of talent cultivation and technical exchanges.
Mr. Pham Huu Quoc, President of Vietnam Academy of Southern Research and Mr. Bùi Lê Hoàng, Chairman of HEALTH Oncology Clinic, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, said that cancer is a common challenge to mankind, and Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou has formed a “Chinese Characteristic” in the field of integrated oncology, hoping that the hospital and the Southeast Asian medical community will actively promote the multidisciplinary collaboration of oncology, and achieve more results in the regional cancer prevention and treatment, as well as clinical management.

Mr. VŨ VIỆT ANH, Consul General of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou, said that Chinese oncologists, especially the MDT team of doctors from Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou are very famous, and that China is one step ahead of Vietnam in oncology practice. Vietnam should learn and communicate more from China and Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou in the field of oncology medical treatment in order to benefit oncology patients of the two countries, and also hope that the patients can return to their “normal” life as soon as possible, and the medical cooperation between the two countries can continue to develop and reach a higher level.
The event was highly praised by more than 20 Southeast Asian medical experts on site. They expressed that they would further strengthen communication and cooperation with the “Belt and Road” training base, and looked forward to realizing the core concepts of joint cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win, openness and inclusiveness, and mutual learning and mutual appreciation in the days to come. Establishment of the “Belt and Road” Holistic Integrative Oncology Training Base of China Anti-Cancer Association Liaison Center
At the event, Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou officially announced the establishment of the “Belt and Road” Holistic Integrative Oncology Training Base of China Anti-Cancer Association Liaison Center in China and Southeast Asian countries.
President Wang Huaizhong said that in the past 18 years, Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou has spared no effort to promote lectures by oncologists, remote multidisciplinary consultations, medical exchanges and cooperation in Southeast Asian countries. In the future, the hospital will live up to the expectation and continue to uphold the vision of “to establish a globally known international hospital”, and while improving its own medical service capacity, it will actively spreading and exchanging to Southeast Asian countries to promote cooperation between China and other countries in the field of medical oncology, and to jointly respond to the challenges of cancer in human beings, actively contribute “modern” power to the global anti-cancer cause!

In order to fulfill General Secretary Xi Jinping’s requirement of “Facing to people’s life and health”, in 2022-2023, the China Anti-Cancer Association (CACA) organized more than 13,000 authoritative experts to collectively write and complete China’s first CACA Guidlines for Holistic Integrative Management of Cancer, which is a total of more than 10 million words, covering 53 common tumors (Tumor Chapter) and 60 diagnostic and therapeutic techniques (Technique Chapter), with a total of 113 guidelines.
From 2017 to 2022, China Anti-Cancer Association (CACA) will continue to undertake the “Belt and Road” International Joint Training Center for Oncology Professionals project of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), carry out a series of training activities, and set up a “Belt and Road” thematic session at the Chinese Congress of Holistic Integrative Oncology (CCHIO) every year.
Starting from May 2023, the Association has established “Belt and Road” Holistic Integrative Oncology Training Base of China Anti-Cancer Association in Xinjiang, Guangxi, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang and other places, and the sixth training base has been successfully settled in Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. The “Belt and Road” Holistic Integrative Oncology Training Base will collaborate with relevant countries to carry out work in talent cultivation and cooperation and exchange, promote the spread of China’s tumor prevention and treatment level to Southeast Asian countries, and benefit the tumor patients in China and the “Belt and Road” countries.
