On August 30th, in order to celebrate the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia and Indonesia's chairmanship of ASEAN in 2023, the Indonesian Consulate in Guangzhou organized a celebration event at The Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou. Leaders of Boai Medical Group, including President Lin Zhicheng and Vice President Lin Daoxuan, were invited by H.E. Mr. Djauhari Oratmangun, the Ambassador of Indonesia to China, and Dr. Ben Perkasa Drajat, the Consul General of Indonesia in Guangzhou, to attend the event.

August 17th is Indonesia's Independence Day, a day of special significance for Indonesians. on August 17th, 1945, Sukarno, the "Father of Independence", issued the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the establishment of the Republic of Indonesia. The year 2023 will mark the 78th anniversary of Indonesia's independence and the 5th time that Indonesia has assumed the chairmanship of ASEAN, which underscores Indonesia's position as a global middle power and its increasingly important role in the international and global arena.
Speech by H.E. Mr Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of Indonesia to China
H.E. Mr. Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, delivered a welcoming speech, expressing his gratitude to the distinguished guests and colleagues who have long supported the mutually beneficial and friendly relations between Indonesia and China. He said that although the Republic of Indonesia has gone through a lot of challenges since its declaration of independence, it has eventually overcome the difficulties through the continuous efforts of the Indonesian people. The bilateral relations between Indonesia and China have been moving forward since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Dr. Ben Perkasa Drajat, Consul General of Indonesia in Guangzhou, also said that Indonesia and China have a deep friendship and are good friends with equality and mutual benefit. In the future, Indonesia and China will strengthen cooperation in various aspects such as economy and healthcare, and promote the strategic partnership between the two countries to move forward and bring more benefits to the people of the two countries.

During the meeting, Mr. Lin Zhicheng, President of St. Stamford International Medical, also exchanged views with the Consul General of the Vietnam Consulate in Guangzhou and the Consul and Vice Consul of the Philippine Consulate in Guangzhou.

Finally, the event ended with songs and dances led by H.E. Mr Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of Indonesia to China and Dr. Ben Perkasa Drajat, Consul General of Indonesia in Guangzhou.
Mr. Lin Zhicheng said that St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, a subsidiary of St. Stamford International Medical, has a close relationship with Indonesia and has received thousands of Indonesian tumor patients and provided them with professional and high-quality medical services. The hospital is looking forward to working with the consulates of Southeast Asian countries in China to strengthen medical cooperation, talent training, technology exchange, and other aspects of cooperation, based on the Belt and Road Holistic Integrative Oncology Training Base of China Anti-Cancer Association, and strive to promote the dissemination of China's advanced treatment technology to Southeast Asian countries for the benefit of tumor patients in Southeast Asian countries.
