To provide standardized, individualized, and one-stop precision diagnosis and treatment services for most lung cancer patients, the Lung Cancer Clinical Prevention and Treatment Center in Ward 7 of St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou officially resumed operations on June 6, 2024.


Wang Huaizhong, President of St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, Professor Song Shijun, Assistant to the President and Chief Expert of the Oncology Department, Yang Jinna, Director of the Hospital Office, Xiang Qide, Director of the Lung Cancer Clinical Prevention and Treatment Center, Yu Rian, Director of the Operations Department, Wang Junlan, Director of the Nursing Department, He Fengyu, Director of the Infection Control Department, and He Jianyu, Director of the Minimally Invasive Intervention Department, were present at the ceremony, along with the medical staff of the Lung Cancer Clinical Prevention and Treatment Center.

At 8:38 AM, the ceremony officially began with Director Xiang Qide of the Lung Cancer Clinical Prevention and Treatment Center delivering the opening speech on behalf of the department. He noted that lung cancer has surpassed breast cancer to become the world's leading cancer, with the highest incidence and mortality rates globally, accounting for approximately one-fifth of all cancer-related deaths. In 2022, there were 2.5 million new cases of lung cancer worldwide, resulting in 1.8 million deaths. The re-establishment of the Lung Cancer Clinical Prevention and Treatment Center aims to meet the needs of a large number of lung cancer patients, improve the precision and standardization of lung tumor treatment and management, enhance clinical efficacy and service quality, and establish a specialized center known for its brand effect in disease diagnosis and treatment.

Following that, Wang Huaizhong, President of St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, expressed heartfelt congratulations on the resumption of operations at the Lung Cancer Clinical Prevention and Treatment Center. He highlighted the center's highly skilled and experienced medical team, who have previously achieved remarkable success in lung cancer treatment, establishing a strong reputation. He expressed confidence that they will continue to excel, providing more effective and precise treatments for lung cancer patients. He emphasized their commitment to delivering care and responsibility to every patient they serve.


Shortly after, President Wang Huaizhong and other hospital leaders unveiled the plaque together, presenting the "Clinical Prevention and Treatment Center of Lung Cancer" plaque to Director Xiang Qide, officially declaring the department's resumption of operations.
