On October 17, 2024, Ms. Nook, a famous Thai celebrity and cancer fighter, officially visited St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou as the "Global Anti-Cancer Ambassador". The purpose of this visit is to inspect and promote the world's leading integrated minimally invasive anti-cancer new technology, and further deepen the medical exchanges between China and Thailand in cancer treatment and medical services. Through a series of visits, technical inspections, and patient encouragement, Ms. Nook has injected new highlights into the global breast health issue and improved the well-being of Thai patients in cancer treatment.

Practice health advocacy and lead by example in breast cancer screening

At the beginning of the visit, Ms. Nook took the lead in experiencing our hospital's breast cancer screening service, demonstrating her high concern for the breast health of women around the world and advocating the health concept of "early screening, early detection, and early treatment". She then received a health consultation from Director Dai Wenyan, a well-known breast cancer expert in our hospital. Based on the screening results and health status, Director Dai Wenyan provided Ms. Nook with detailed medical advice. As a mother of three children, Ms. Nook specifically consulted on how women of childbearing age can effectively protect their breast health and the dual advantages of integrating minimally invasive treatment in breast cancer preservation and health preservation. Director Dai said that these issues hit the concerns of the majority of women of childbearing age and are also cutting-edge issues of concern to the global medical community.

Director Dai further pointed out that the trend of younger breast cancer is becoming increasingly obvious, but breast cancer is a cancer that can be self-checked and has a high possibility of cure. Scientific protection, timely detection, and correct treatment will greatly improve the cure rate. Especially in the context of the continuous development of current medical technology, traditional large-incision surgery is gradually being replaced by more advanced minimally invasive treatment. Minimally invasive treatment for breast preservation and health preservation has become a development trend in the international medical community and is of great significance to improving the cure rate of breast cancer. After this exchange, Ms. Nook said that she benefited a lot and felt deeply the social responsibility she shouldered as a global anti-cancer ambassador. She will continue to promote women's attention to breast health and early detection awareness and contribute to the global female breast health cause.

In-depth study of international advanced minimally invasive technologies to promote cross-border medical exchanges

To further understand the cutting-edge progress of minimally invasive cancer treatment technology, Ms. Nook visited the minimally invasive treatment room with international characteristics and related advanced facilities of our hospital. In communication with the hospital's oncologist, Director He Jianyu, she gained an in-depth understanding of the wide application of minimally invasive technologies such as interventional therapy, seed implantation, and cryoablation in the treatment of malignant tumors. Ms. Nook pointed out that in Thailand, many cancer patients only have traditional surgery or radiotherapy and chemotherapy after diagnosis. For patients who are elderly, weak, or affected by religious beliefs and cannot undergo conventional surgery, traditional treatments are difficult to meet their needs.

In addition, traditional therapies are often accompanied by irreversible side effects, such as decreased immunity and hair loss, which seriously affect the quality of life of patients. The minimally invasive technology of St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou has the advantages of less trauma and faster recovery, which will provide these cancer patients with effective treatment options and will become a new beacon on their life path. Ms. Nook highly praised the hospital's technical strength and believed that the development of minimally invasive treatment would bring more hope for treatment to cancer patients in Thailand and even around the world.

Visiting Thai patients in hospital, conveying care and confidence in fighting cancer

As a global anti-cancer ambassador, Ms. Nook made a special trip to visit several Thai patients who were treated in our hospital to gain an in-depth understanding of their recovery progress and actual needs. Patients far away from home were greatly encouraged after meeting Ms. Nook. Combining her own anti-cancer experience, Ms. Nook encouraged patients to have firm confidence and actively face every step of treatment, and highly appreciated the comprehensive care and support our hospital provides to international patients.

Our hospital provides integrated treatment and life service support for patients from different countries, from customized Southeast Asian specialties to special car pick-up and language communication support to ensure the comfort of patients during treatment. At present, our hospital has a professional translation team composed of Thai, Indonesian, Vietnamese, English, and other languages, providing 24-hour translation services. At the same time, the hospital also regularly organizes medical tourism, inviting patients and their families to visit famous attractions in Guangzhou or participate in festivals in the hospital to help patients relax and enhance their recovery experience. Ms. Nook said that this series of services will greatly meet the diverse needs of international patients and demonstrate the humanistic care and humanitarian spirit of our hospital.

Awarded the honor of "Global Anti-Cancer Ambassador" to promote international anti-cancer cooperation

On October 18, our hospital held a breast cancer health lecture. At the event, international breast cancer expert Director Dai Wenyan officially awarded Ms. Nook the certificate of "Global Anti-Cancer Ambassador" to commend her outstanding contribution to international breast health and anti-cancer cause. Director Dai expressed the hope that Ms. Nook can continue to use her influence to promote the dissemination of breast health knowledge and the promotion of minimally invasive anti-cancer technology and bring hope and support to more women.

At the award ceremony, Ms. Nook shared her own cancer-fighting experience and spoke fondly of the strength and courage she gained in the fight against the disease. She highly praised the achievements of St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou in the innovation of cancer treatment technology and humanistic care for patients. Ms. Nook said: "During the visit and communication over the past few days, I have deeply felt the care and support of the hospital for patients. From my personal experience of breast cancer screening services to in-depth communication with oncologists, I have seen how the hospital uses advanced minimally invasive technology to provide patients with safer and more effective treatment options."

She also pointed out that the hospital's diversified services for international patients, such as one-stop admission and treatment services and 24-hour translation support, made her feel very gratified, demonstrating the hospital's high attention to international patients and meticulous service attitude. "Such care makes patients feel warm and relaxed during treatment, which helps them better cope with the pain." Ms. Nook promised to continue to promote the cutting-edge advantages of integrated minimally invasive treatment and strive to speak for breast cancer patients around the world. She believes that integrated minimally invasive treatment is not only a care for patients' bodies, but also a focus on their quality of life. Ms. Nook said firmly: "I will use my voice and experience to inspire more women to pay attention to breast health and face challenges bravely."

This event not only deepened Ms. Nook's all-round understanding of our hospital's integrated minimally invasive technology and high-quality medical services, but also further promoted exchanges and cooperation in the field of cancer treatment between China and Thailand, and deepened the friendly relationship of "China and Thailand are one family". St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou will continue to promote the development of anti-cancer under the framework of China-Thailand medical cooperation. We believe that this will inject new vitality into the "Belt and Road" initiative and bring new hope of health and anti-cancer to more Thai and international patients. The hospital will also continue to explore and introduce advanced medical technologies, meet the diverse needs of cancer patients with an international perspective and professional services, and firmly support the development of the global anti-cancer cause.
