Without those diaries, I would not know such a strong-minded patient with hemiplegia whose name is Zhao Kangde. Without those diaries, I would not know such a caring doctor named Wang Ronghua. Those diaries make me realize that the relation between doctors and patients is the love and caring from one to the other, rather than frosty relations of treating and being treated. Now let’s walk into these love diaries and feel the caring and toughness of life.
April 17th, 2014 Sunny
Zhao Kangde, a shy and handsome young man, who has had to rely on a wheelchair all day long since a car accident. Seeing that her son can only move by wheelchair, Zhao’s mother was so sad and dissolve into tears all day long. Besides, in order to taking more time and energy to look after his brother, Zhao’s older brother has given up his love affairs.
It has become the common dream of the whole family that Zhao Kangde can stand up again. However this dream seems to be so far away and can never be realized. Then with his last hope and also with doubt, Zhao Kangde came to Modern Hospital Guangzhou accompanied by his mother and brother…
April 21st, 2014 Cloudy
On this morning, Lying in the unfamiliar operating table for the first time, Zhao Kangde looked at me with his pleading eyes. He said with his vague voice: “Doctor, help me, please! I want to stand up again”. Then his tears couldn’t help shedding on the white surgical drape. I dried his tears with gauze and held his hands: “Take it easy!” In fact, I made up my mind that I must help the boy stand up again.
April 27th, 2014 Sunny
On yesterday afternoon, the sunshine was not so bright. Accompanied by his mother and brother, Kangde bravely walked into the rehabilitation center of our hospital. When he stood up slowly, his mother and bother can not help shedding tears and my eyes were also blurred by tears. I gave him the thumb up and he revealed smiles that we haven’t seen for a long time. He spoke loudly: “I stand up!”
May 2nd, 2014 Light rain
This morning, Kangde discharged from our hospital. I specially arrived at the hospital earlier, but I didn’t go to send them. I merely stood by the window of our department on the third floor, followed their leaving with my eyes and blessed silently: Kangde, wish you more brilliant smile in the future.
