YATI comes from Jakarta, Indonesia. In May, 2018, the symptoms of pain and swelling in lower right abdomen occurred to her and she also suffered pain during menstruation. Therefore, she took examination in local hospital, which indicated there were tumors in ovary. Adopted the doctor’s suggestion, she took surgery and postoperative pathological biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of endometrial cancer. The result left the family in despair. They thought the tumor would be got rid of through surgery once and for all, while her condition was not improved afterwards and the resulting pain and bleeding recurred. So she decided to resort to other hospital.

With the company of her husband, YATI visited the Jakarta Office of St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou and were informed of the technology and service of the hospital. “I was in rather critical condition with severe pain in abdomen. Through the consultation, we learned that there were advanced therapies for cancer, which cause less harm and fewer side effects to the human body." YATI said.

At the Jakarta Office, YATI also learned that many cancer patients in Indonesia also have been benefited from minimally invasive therapy, which gave her hope and she decided to go to China for treatment.

Minimally Invasive Therapy helped her defeat endometrial cancer

In August 12, 2018, with the company of her husband, YATI arrived at St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. The Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) measured a treatment plan combining interventional therapy and particle implantation based on her condition. The first session of interventional therapy scared her and she was relieved after being comforted by the medical staff. “Upon the admission, I suffered from pain in abdomen. It has gone after the treatment and with five sessions of treatment, I got better condition since then. Compared with treatment in Indonesia, the minimally invasive therapy here causes less pain and fewer side effects. I gained weight and good appetite. My physical condition is quiet well.” YATI said with smile.
