Miss Chen

Testimonials:Cancer is not scary as long as you keep positive attitude towards the disease and take treatment, I’m so lucky cause I chose here and defeated cancer.

Miss Chen was a breast cancer stage IV patient from Malaysia. When she had a review in St.Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou on Oct. 11, 2016, the size of the tumor shrunk to 1cm*1cm, comparing with 4cm*4cm before. While the attending doctor told them that the tumor shrunk a lot and the condition would get better after another two sessions of interventional therapy, her son said excitedly, Mom, how lucky we have chosen this hospital!”

With a naturally optimistic mind, Miss Chen kept a positive attitude towards her disease. She said everybody has tumor cells. Resort to treatment when disease comes. It’s nothing serious.

Refuse to take surgery and chemotherapy

Maybe due to her naturally optimistic mind, she thought it was nothing but usual disease when being detected there’s a walnut-size lump on left breast in 2014. However, since 2005, Miss Chen suffered from symptoms such as recurrent cough, chest distress and shortness of breath. On Jun. 18, 2015, worried about her condition, her families took her to local hospital for check-up. On hearing the diagnosis as breast cancer stage IV with metastases to lungs and left armpit lymph node, the family were in deep sorrow, while Miss Chen wasn’t afraid at all, instead she comforted them, “Cancer doesn’t mean death. There must be a suitable treatment.” She didn’t adopt local doctor’s suggestion to take surgery, radiotherapy or electrotherapy. “There were so many people died of these extremely miserable therapies”, she said.

New technique for breast cancer: mastectomy free

Randomly, Miss Chen got to know the St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou through the report on China Press where Professor Peng Xiaochi introduced minimally invasive treatment without mastectomy. Many people who have survived in the battle against breast cancer also shared their experience about how they tried to seek treatment in Malaysia but in vain, then came to Guangzhou and got good effect. All these made her more determined to go to Guangzhou for treatment.

Luckily, I came here to take breast cancer treatment

On 6th July, 2015, Miss Chen, with the company of family, was admitted in St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. On arriving at the hospital, she was weak with continuous cough and unable to move freely out of the disease. She appreciated the warmhearted care from medical staff and said that such polite nurses and thoughtful doctors here are rare back in Malaysia.

Based on Miss Chen’s physical check-up result, the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) in St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou developed a comprehensive treatment plan, combining interventional therapy and cryotherapy, of which she never heard before. Therefore the attending doctor explained the plan patiently and comforted her before the treatment start.” The doctor also told me precautions and his kindly words made me relax during the interventional therapy. I didn’t even feel any pain until the end of treatment.” She recalled.

On Aug. 12, 2015, Miss Chen took a re-check in Malaysia hospital, it turned out that the tumor had shrunk to 3cm*3cm and the metastases nodules obviously had reduced. She also felt herself got improvement after every treatment.

In Oct. 2016, when Miss Chen came again to St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, her life has backed to normal. “I can do chores such as, laundry and cook. Currently, I’m in a quiet well condition.” she said with joy.

Had an improved condition, she didn’t forget to comfort other patients in hospital. She said: “Cancer doesn’t mean death, as long as believe in ourselves and doctors here, we can defeat it.”
