What are the symptoms of breast cancer, and how can it be prevented? I still may not know the answers to these questions to this day. During a company physical examination in October 2023, I was accidentally found to have breast thickening and was subsequently diagnosed with breast cancer. At that time, I had no symptoms of discomfort. Faced with this sudden bad news, I felt baffled and scared. The minimally invasive treatment technology of St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou has rekindled my hope. After several treatments, the disease has been effectively controlled. I hope my story can bring strength to friends fighting cancer.
(SWASTI SAWITRI SUYOTO)
In October 2023, I took part in a company-organized physical examination and was informed by the doctor that there was a thickening in my left breast. Despite not experiencing any discomfort, I was puzzled and decided to undergo further examination. The results revealed breast cancer with a tumor size of approximately 2.31*1.99cm. The doctor suggested chemotherapy, but I was extremely concerned about the potential side effects, and whether my body could handle it, so I declined. I felt incredibly helpless during that time and was unsure how to confront the future.
The MDT developed a personalized minimally invasive treatment plan
With the efficient assistance of the Jakarta International Service Center, I quickly completed my visa and other overseas procedures. On January 18, 2024, I arrived at St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. After a comprehensive examination, I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer, and the cancer cells had spread to my lymph nodes, liver, and lumbar spine.
The MDT created a personalized comprehensive treatment plan for me based on my condition, which included interventional therapy and cryotherapy. Interventional therapy delivers anti-tumor drugs directly to the tumor site, avoiding damage to other healthy tissues, with very mild side effects during the treatment process. Cryotherapy, on the other hand, involves freezing the tumor cells locally to destroy them. I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort during the entire process, which was beyond my expectations and truly a pleasant surprise.
The excellent and warm medical team helped me defeat cancer
After each treatment, I was able to return to Indonesia and continue my normal life and work. After two interventional treatments, Professor Lin told me that the tumor had significantly shrunk, and the upcoming cryotherapy would further control the metastasized tumors. I felt immense relief and gratitude, and I became even more confident and motivated for the treatments ahead. After several sessions, she informed me that the CT scans showed all the cancer cells had lost activity. I was so overjoyed that I couldn’t speak, overwhelmed with a mix of emotions. My long perseverance had finally paid off.
During the few months of treatment at St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, the doctors, nurses, and translators provided me with meticulous care and attention. Professor Lin not only created a detailed treatment plan for me but also constantly cared about my overall well-being. She advised me to maintain a healthy routine and diet and patiently explained the significance of each step in the treatment process. This thoughtful care made me feel at ease throughout the treatment and filled me with confidence in my battle against cancer. I am deeply grateful to them and hope that God blesses them in return.
Welcome to a new life and bless cancer friends
