"In three years, I suffered from colon cancer and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-cell type) with multiple metastases throughout my body, but I never gave up. I couldn't stand up, had edema all over my body, and coughed up blood, but they couldn't stop me from coming to Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou for treatment. After receiving minimally invasive treatment, my tumor is almost gone and I can live and work normally. ”

Diagnosed colon cancer, after surgical and systemic chemotherapy

Tumor recurrence and spread throughout the body

I am Ninik, from Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and I am 56 years old. In May 2021, I discovered that I had symptoms of blood in the stool, and the test results showed that I was diagnosed with liver metastasis from colon cancer. At that time, a friend recommended me to seek medical treatment at St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. Her 86-year-old father received minimally invasive treatment here and is still in good health with no recurrence. Her father shared with me that the minimally invasive treatment was relatively easy for him, with no vomiting or other side effects. It was not as painful as chemotherapy, and it was quite friendly to the elderly. Unfortunately, the city was under lockdown at the time, so I had no choice but to undergo resection surgery and chemotherapy in Singapore.

During the resection and chemotherapy, I experienced long and agonizing pain: a long recovery period from surgery, weakness, loss of appetite, peeling, and black skin. Nine months later, the examination showed that all the tumors had been "eliminated". I felt happy and relieved for the time being. However, in May 2023, I discovered a lump in my breast and an egg-sized lump in my neck. But the doctor said: "It is not a malignant tumor."

In August 2023, I started to have difficulty eating and fatigue, so I went to Singapore again for a check-up. The doctor told me in surprise: "The tumor has recurred and spread throughout the body." The examination showed multiple metastases in the peritoneum, bones, diaphragm, and lymph nodes. The doctor said that the only way out was chemotherapy and announced that he only had 3-6 months left to survive. Recalling the pain of previous surgeries and chemotherapy, I rejected the doctor's advice. Soon, I became sicker. In October 2023, I also had a mass in my nasopharynx and was unable to eat. I was forced to have a gastrostomy to temporarily solve my "eating" problem.

I am Ninik and I believe that cancer will not defeat any of us

Minimally invasive interventional therapy instead of systemic chemotherapy

No risk of bleeding, less pain, better results

I am still grateful to God that he did not let me go through too much suffering. When I was in the most painful time, I learned the news that St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou was open for medical treatment. So, on October 27, 2023, I came here in a wheelchair. My physical condition was bad at that time. I couldn't stand up, my whole body was edematous, and I was coughing up blood. A multidisciplinary team of experts formulated an interventional treatment plan for me based on my condition and told me: "You can rest assured that interventional treatment accurately infuses anti-tumor drugs into the tumor site through a small 2mm catheter. The drug concentration in the tumor is 2-8 times higher than that of traditional chemotherapy, but the side effects are smaller. Don't worry!" I answered the doctor very firmly: "Even if you don't tell me this, I believe you can cure me because I have already met my friend's father, who was cured by you and is now in good health."

After a short course of minimally invasive interventional treatment, my symptoms of hemoptysis gradually improved, and problems such as edema and insomnia disappeared. After several interventional sessions, I could finally stand up independently and eat porridge! Now I can also work online. A few days ago, the doctor told me during his ward rounds: "According to your current condition, you can completely get rid of the gastrostomy. We hope you can eat normally as soon as possible."I am so happy and touched that I was lucky enough to beat cancer, and I am thankful that I was able to get rid of my gastrostomy!

On October 27, 2023, the tumor spread throughout the body before treatment; On May 4, 2024, the tumor almost disappeared after treatment

The nasopharyngeal tumor was about 6.1cm x 2.8cm x 6.8cm before treatment and disappeared after treatment

Pay tribute to the professional skills and considerate service of medical staff

I am very grateful to the medical staff here, they are professional and efficient, very patient and friendly. They especially sent flowers and cakes on Mother’s Day, May 12, to celebrate Mother’s Day with my son. I will always remember this warm day. In addition, I am especially grateful to my husband and children who have been with me all the way. They are like angels with a halo, giving me light and strength when I am in the most difficult and sad times.

I often think that maybe my life has gone too well for God to bring cancer to me to make me cherish life and my family even more. I also highly recommend my relatives and friends around me to come here for treatment, I have recommended two of them so far, and I hope that they will also be able to receive the gentle and efficient minimally invasive treatment techniques. I hope everyone can be treated well, and may every cancer warrior finally succeed in their fight against cancer!

May 12, 2024, International Mother's Day

The medical staff and my son surprised me, and I was very touched
